Nearly three years after the release of Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming, French electronic act M83 is going back and reissuing its earlier catalog, including the band's first three albums as well as two digital EPs featuring remixes and B-sides.
On Aug. 25, the Anthony Gonzalez-led outfit will re-release its 2001 self-titled debut; 2004's Dead Cities, Red Seas, and Lost Ghost; and 2005's Before the Dawn Heals Us (2005). All three will be released on CD, vinyl and digital download. Subsequently, Dead Cities, Red Seas and Lost Ghosts Remixes and B-sides and Before The Dawn Heals Us Remixes and B-Sides will be available digitally Sept. 2014 on via Mute Records.
While M83 has been fairly quiet about a new album, Gonzalez has spent the past year scoring two films: Oblivion (featuring Tom Cruise) and You and the Night (directed by his brother Yann Gonzalez), with music also featured in The Fault in Our Stars and 22 Jump Street.
