The Internet strikes again.
Despite reports that Flight of the Conchords will soon return to HBO, the news simply isn't true.
The giddy claim stems from Jemaine Clement's new interview with The Guardian, in which he discusses the duo's future. The article goes on to announce that HBO has ordered a "new, four-episode comedy show" from Clement and Conchords director Taika Waititi.
Instead of taking it for what it is (a completely new project), numerous stories appeared Tuesday proclaiming a return for the band's defunct series, which finished its two-season run in 2009.
Clement himself has since squashed those rumors and HBO has also confirmed there is no truth to the reports.
