According to Blink-182's Tom DeLonge, the band's next album will be here by next summer, if all goes as planned.

The singer-guitarist said in a new interview with Wondering Sound the band has their "first big writing session coming here in the next few weeks where we’ll get together and lay down our first tracks," all with the "[hope] that we can get this thing out by summer."

Bassist-vocalist Mark Hoppus said earlier this year they had originally planned to "start recording at the beginning of this year, but there were some things happening in some of our personal lives that prevented us from getting in the studio."

The new record will be the band's seventh overall and the first since 2011's mildly received Neighborhoods.
