British singer-songwriter James Bay has revealed plans to embark on his first headlining tour of North America beginning in April.

Bay, who topped Variance's Now List of 20 acts expected to rule the year, has seen his star rise over the past few months. As we previously mentioned, he also won the Brit Critics Choice Award, following in the steps of Sam Smith, Adele and Florence + the Machine.

He'll perform at SXSW between March 17-21, with his debut album, Chaos and the Calm, due on March 24.

A ticket pre-sale begins Thursday and general on-sale starts Friday at 10 a.m. local time.
