Nate Ruess, Jack Antonoff and Andrew Dost (aka Fun.) have responded to rumors the band is heading for a split, giving fans an update via Facebook and letting them know that "first and foremost to answer the question that has been raised most often: fun is not breaking up."
Following Antonoff's successful Bleachers debut last year and a lack of material since the trio's 2012 hit, Some Nights, sources have told Billboard relations between them are unsteady, with "weeks, even months" between communication, describing the issue as a "clash of egos."
Ruess is working on his first solo album while Dost has been busy scoring films, but the band explained in their Facebook post that they still plan to make music as Fun.
"It would have been very easy for us to jump back in the studio and capitalize on our momentum," they said. "But making records and touring when its 'good for business' means nothing to us. We make records and tour when we are inspired to do so."
