Spike Lee is looking to cast some Chicago natives in his upcoming film for Amazon Studios titled Chiraq.

According to The Wrap, Kanye West, Common and Jeremy Piven—all from Chicago—are in negotiations to make up the ensemble cast that would also include Samuel L. Jackson.

Details for the project have not yet been revealed, but "chiraq" is a term that has previously been negatively associated with the Windy City because of its high crime rate and history with violence.

The film would mark a critical benchmark for Amazon, which has inched its way into the film and television spectrum with original programming such as Variance's Best TV Show of 2014 Transparent and an upcoming Woody Allen series.
