Ben Afleck's days as Batman may only just be getting started.

According to a report from Deadline, the actor is in talks to co-write and possibly direct a new film in which he'd once again star as the caped crusader.

Variety subsequently confirmed that Affleck, who is expected to be at Comic-Con this week, is indeed eyeing a standalone Batman flick, which he would co-write with Geoff Johns.

Such a film wouldn't arrive for some time, however, as only hours earlier on Thursday, it was revealed that Affleck's next directing gig, Live By Night, will begin production this November.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is out March 25, 2016, followed by Justice League: Part One, which is due Nov. 17, 2017.
