With just over two weeks until the Aug. 14 release of N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, Ice Cube suggests fans should also be prepared for new music from Dr. Dre this Saturday.
Speaking with Philadelphia radio station Power 99 to promote the film on Wednesday, Ice Cube claimed his fellow N.W.A. MC is releasing an album of new music inspired by the upcoming movie.
"It’s Dr. Dre, it’s what everybody been waiting for," Ice Cube said. “It’s definitely a dope record, and he’s dropping it all on the same day. It's crazy."
The news follows earlier reports that Eminem and Kendrick Lamar would appear on the film's soundtrack. At press time, it was unknown whether the aforementioned Dr. Dre album and the soundtrack are the same project.
Update: Rolling Stone cites multiple sources who say Dr. Dre's album/Straight Outta Compton soundtrack will not be released this Saturday.
