Veteran music publicist Heathcliff Berru on Tuesday resigned as CEO of the firm he founded, Life or Death PR, following increasing allegations of sexual harassment.

Berru's exit comes hours after a number of female musicians and industry personnel went public about past incidents, spearheaded by a series of tweets by Dirty Projectors singer-instrumentalist Amber Coffman, who recalled a time several years ago when he "RUBBED my ass and BIT my hair" in a bar.

Coffman's recollection prompted reactions from other women in the industry, including Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino and Judy Miller Silverman of Motormouth Media (Caribou, Flying Lotus, Thundercat), who recounted their own horrific encounters.

Musician Roxy Lange subsequently revealed her own experience from 2007, alleging that Berru tried to force her to perform oral sex on him, exposing his penis to her in the back of a cab. She says he then he followed her home and "forced his way into my apartment, attempting to force himself on me but he was luckily too drunk and coked up to get hard so he gave up."

Life or Death—which represents the likes of Killer Mike, D’Angelo and Odd Future—responded Tuesday afternoon, explaining the company has a "zero tolerance policy for the type of conduct alleged in today’s on-line postings. We take these allegations very seriously," the firm said in a statement.

Noting that the company is comprised of "3 men and 3 women who are committed to promoting art and serving the clients that we're so privileged to represent," Life or Death said: "We are taking measures to ensure that the alleged behavior did not, and will not, make its way into company operations or impact our commitment to promoting art and assisting our clients."

Berru has not yet reacted publicly to the allegations against him.
