As The National frontman Matt Berninger prepares to release his debut album this fall with newly formed outfit EL VY, the singer says his original band already has dozens of songs in the works for a new album.

"We did a camp out retreat in New York a couple of months ago," Berninger said of The National's forthcoming seventh record in a new interview with NME. "And we’re having another one in LA in a few weeks. We have 30 sketches of songs so far."

He also said bandmate Aaron Dessner has been giving the songs tentative titles named after cities in upstate New York, noting that "the songs that turned into Trouble Will Find Me were named after children of our friends."

Trouble Will Find Me, which is the band's latest album, arrived two years ago in May.
