Wednesday's season one finale of Mr. Robot, USA's breakout hit thriller, has been postponed until next Wednesday due to similarities between the episode and this morning's fatal Virginia television station shooting.
The network released a statement late Wednesday afternoon explaining their decision: "The previously filmed season finale of Mr. Robot contains a graphic scene similar in nature to today’s tragic events in Virginia. Out of respect to the victims, their families and colleagues, and our viewers, we are postponing tonight’s episode. Our thoughts go out to all those affected during this difficult time."
USA will instead air a repeat of last week's penultimate episode of the season, "eps1.8_m1rr0r1ng.qt," during the show's scheduled time slot at 10 p.m. EST, with the season finale, "eps1.9_zer0-day.avi," to follow on Sept. 2.
