Florida Sen. Marco Rubio says Prince's 1984 album Purple Rain was the first CD he ever bought.

The confession was part of a video released Tuesday by the presidential hopeful's campaign. Titled "15 Questions Marco Won't Be Asked at the Debate," the clip comes a day before yet another Republican debate on Wednesday.

In the video, Rubio—the youngest major 2016 contender—answers a series of seemingly impromptu, mostly pop culture questions. He reveals he currently owns a Samsung, but he wants to switch back to iPhone. He prefers Twitter over Facebook. And he thinks Batman would defeat Spider-Man in a fight.

When asked for his preference between Tupac and Biggie, Rubio quickly exclaims he's team Tupac. He also reveals he currently DVRs HBO's Ballers. And when asked about the most famous person's texted, he says he once corresponded with Bono. "He emailed me first," he says.

As for the Prince reference, it's not the first time Rubio has invoked the Purple One into the political discussion. In his announcement to run for president earlier this year, the senator took a jab at opponents "taxing and borrowing and regulating like it’s 1999," a nod to Prince's 1982 hit "1999."
