Emerging singer James Scott is heading into the weekend with a confessional new single "With You."

The slow-burning track arrived Friday. It's the first preview of the Variance favorite's upcoming project BOYs HURT too, which is expected to be released in December.

According to the artist, "With You" was partly inspired by a conversation with his mom. "I started writing it on the train while I was headed to the city," he says of the track. "We all go through days where we think about the past, through the healing process, wondering what if [and] how would it be if we tried and didn’t give up."

He says "With You" is about "the healing after a heartbreak," while he describes BOYs HURT too as a "journal" and the "beginning of my expression."
