After releasing a handful of songs over the summer, Jordan Bratton surprised fans on Friday with a new mixtape called Driver's Ed.

While he had teased the project earlier in the week, the Long Island singer otherwise gave fans little notice about the 11-track project, which includes previously released songs, including "Pieces," "Spaces" and recent Variance favorite "Sunsets."

"This whole time I have been writing songs and I never knew why I was making them because I couldn’t see right away how I related to them," Bratton said of the tape, which he mostly self-produced. "It wasn’t until living with the music did I find out why they were made in the first place. The process of this body of work was to teach how to appreciate God's blessings and how far he’s brought us. I can’t thank my team enough for sticking with it and my fans for staying on my back to finish."

While there might not have been a formal announcement for the new mixtape, Bratton makes quite the entrance on his own, proving he's a star worth watching.
