New York duo Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion (aka Cults) are back at it.

The band officially ended their hiatus on Friday with the release of their dazzling new single "Offering," the title track from their upcoming third album, which is out on Oct. 6 via Sinderlyn, marking their first release on the indie label.

They have also announced a full North American tour, starting Oct. 14 in Philadelphia and running through Nov. 19 in Baltimore. Tickets go on sale next Friday, July 14.

While the four-year break might have seemed lengthy for fans, Oblivion says they really needed the time away. "I feel like we stepped into a tour van when we were 21, and basically didn't get out of it for the next few years," he said in a statement. "We wanted to give ourselves some space to have normal lives, and wait until there was something new to say."

According to Follin, the new material is more personal. "These songs are less art projects, less thinking, 'This is a heartbreak song; what would Lesley Gore do?' [They're] more reflective of things that have happened in our own lives."
