Emerging singer Earl St. Clair on Friday released his Def Jam debut single "Man on Fire," a bluesy, stirring preview of his upcoming debut album Songs About a Girl I Used to Know.

"Man on fire is a state of mind when you feel like nothing can extinguish the pain," the Alabama native said of the track. "You can find ways to deal with it, but the real fight is finding the solution...Not an escape. I know I'm not the first to experience this, and I know I won't be the last 'Man on Fire.'"

As we previously mentioned, St. Clair teamed up with fellow up-and-comer Bibi Bourelly earlier this summer for the infectious collaboration "Perfect," which they performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

There's no word yet on when Earl St. Clair's album will be released, but "Man on Fire" is a damn good appetizer. Hear it below.
