Emerging Brooklyn-based singer Peter Wise has shared a glossy, soul-tinged new single "Denial."

The Boston native counts among his musical influences the likes of Joni Mitchell and Earth, Wind & Fire, with nods to more recent acts such as Justin Timberlake and Daft Punk, as evidenced on "Denial."

The funky pop cut, which is a preview of Wise's upcoming EP, is "about the push and pull of a relationship on the ropes," according to Wise, who says it's reflective of "two people who can't live with each other and can’t live without ... I thought the phrase ‘in denial,' usually relating to drug dependence, was an interesting way to refer to a relationship between two people."
