Drake's newest album Views sold a mammoth 851,000 copies in the U.S. in its first week, for which the tracking cutoff was Thursday night.

According to Nielsen Music, that's the largest debut and sales week for any album this year. It's also the biggest sales mark since Adele's 25 arrived last fall.

Album equivalent units and streaming number have yet to be factored in, but industry forecasters are confident those totals will push Views past the 1 million mark.

Drake's label, Republic Records, previously reported Views has surpassed 1.2 million units worldwide (including album equivalent and streaming units).
