As Sam Smith prepares to put a bow on his debut album In the Lonely Hour with a deluxe edition, the singer has released an intensely emotional new track "Drowning Shadows."

The song is featured on the deluxe set and serves as Smith's last offering before taking a break to work on his sophomore album.

Smith previously called the extended release "a present directly from me to my fans," adding: "This album, this journey has changed my life. So I have listened to all your wants and wishes and put some tracks on this album that you all wanted originally."

While the Drowning Shadows edition of the album is out Friday (Nov. 6), the track debuted Monday on Beats 1 and can be heard below.
