After offering a gripping live performance of his single "We Could Be Free" last month on CBS's The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Vic Mensa on Wednesday released a powerful set of visuals as part of a lyric video for the stirring track.

Much like how the Colbert performance highlighted cities or parts of the world experiencing recent tragedy or conflict, the video features mostly homemade or raw footage from places like Palestine, Standing Rock and Charlottesville, mixed with images of Mensa spray painting the lyrics of the song on a wall.

The politically charged track appears on Mensa's recent debut album The Autobiography and is his latest effort to use his platform to raise awareness about moral issues and injustice in the United States and around the world.

He is currently on tour supporting Jay-Z, with a handful of dates remaining this year.
