As The Shins gear up to release a new album, the James Mercer-led outfit debuted new music over the weekend during a stretch of U.K. shows.

Of the material they performed were two new songs "Dead Alive" and "Rubber Balls."

As we previously mentioned, The Shins' forthcoming album is complete but likely won't arrive until early next year so that the band's label can promote it more heavily, also allowing for a performance slot at Coachella in April.

The Shins are also set to perform stateside later this month at Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas.
