The Black Eyed Peas have ended what's essentially been a five-year hiatus to release a new rendition of their hit anthem "Where Is The Love?," which was released Wednesday evening.

Aimed at ending gun violence, the new, star-studded version features the likes of Justin Timberlake, Jamie Foxx, Mary J. Blige, The Game, Andra Day, Tori Kelly, Ty Dolla $ign, Usher, DJ Khaled, A$AP Rocky, Russell Westbrook, Jaden Smith, Kendall Jenner, Diddy, Lance Bass, Jhené Aiko, Quincy Jones, Connie Britton, Kris Jenner, Wiz Khalifa and other stars, as well as figures at the center of recent violence, such as Dallas police chief David O. Brown and Sandra Sterling, the aunt of Alton Sterling.

Noting the 13 years that have passed since the original song's release, will.i.am says the remake was inspired by recent tragic events such as the terrorist attacks in Paris, Belgium, Turkey and Orlando; the killings of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling; and the deaths of police officers in Dallas.

In a statement, the group said the song and its accompanying video "calls for calm, asking citizens of the world to stop the hate and violence that has resulted in many lives lost."

Proceeds from the new recording, which is technically titled #WHERESTHELOVE (featuring The World), will go toward will.i.am's i.am.angel foundation, which helps fund educational programs and college scholarships.

The new video can be seen exclusively on Apple Music and is also available now for download on iTunes.
