Alabama Shakes this weekend made their Saturday Night Live debut, and they didn't waste a second of it. The rootsy rockers first gave a riveting performance of their breakout single "Hold On" as well as "Always Alright," a track written exclusively for the Silver Linings Playbook soundtrack.

Host Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained) flubbed their name when introducing them at the beginning of the show ("Alabama Shake is here!"), quickly making "Alabama Shake" a trending topic on Twitter. But it was really no big deal. Once Brittany Howard and Co. took the stage, it didn't even matter. Unlike some past SNL performances that seem dwarfed by the Studio 8H stage, Alabama Shakes effectively owned the platform and didn't seem at all phased by their first time on the NBC comedy show.
