It's one of our favorite songs of the year, hands down. And in another sign of Phosphorescent's (Matthew Houck) rising star, the musician gave a praiseworthy performance of "Song for Zula" Tuesday night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, complete with conga drums and strings.

Regardless of the incredible orchestra supporting him, Houck offered one powerful performance, proving that after more than a decade of making music, he's certainly worthy of this spotlight.

Phosphorescent's latest album, Muchacho, is available now via Dead Oceans.
