It may have been expected, but now it's official. J. Cole has the No. 1 album in the country.

According to Nielsen Music, the recently released KOD moved 397,000 equivalent album units in its first week, the tracking week ending on April 26. That tally gives Cole the biggest total sales week (and streaming week) of the year so far and the third-largest streaming week ever.

Additionally, it's the rapper's fifth consecutive No. 1 record, following 2016's 4 Your Eyez Only, 2014 Forest Hills Drive in 2014, Born Sinner in 2013, and Cole World: The Sideline Story in 2011.

As we previously mentioned, J. Cole released KOD on April 20 with just four days' notice, announcing the album on April 16 with a mystery event which turned out to be a private listening party for fans.
