Drake and Justin Bieber have both been added to the lineup for Tuesday's Hand in Hand telethon benefiting hurricane victims.
TMZ reported the two pop stars are joining the A-list roster, along with the likes of Billy Crystal, Robert De Niro, Sofia Vergara, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. While the event was original billed as a benefit for Hurricane Harvey victims, it will also fund relief for those affected by Hurricane Irma, which remains active in the Atlantic Ocean after making landfill in the Caribbean.
As we previously reported, Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, George Strait, Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Reese Witherspoon, Rob Lowe, Matthew McConaughey, Kelly Rowland and others have already signed on to take part in the live event, which will air this Tuesday (Sept. 12) at 8 p.m. EST across all major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox) as well as HBO, MTV, CMT, E! and Oxygen.
YouTube, Yahoo!, Twitter, Facebook and Apple Music will also stream the event.
All proceeds raised will go directly to recovery efforts in Texas and Louisiana, as well as Florida and areas affected by Irma. Participating organizations include the Rebuild Texas Fund, United Way, Habitat for Humanity and Save the Children.
The all-network event is worth noting, as the 2012 telethon for Superstorm Sandy, which aired only on NBC, raised $23 million for victims of that storm.
Drake and Bieber's involvement in the upcoming telethon probably shouldn't come as a surprise, as Drizzy was among the first celebrities to respond to Harvey's impact on Houston, which the rapper calls his second home. He also donated to J.J. Watt's hurricane relief fund.
Meanwhile, the telethon is being organized in part by Bieber's manager Scooter Braun.
Update (Sept. 9): Full list of participants can be seen below. It should be noted, only George Strait is listed as a musical performer.
Sean “Diddy” Combs
Robert De Niro
