It appears we are just days away from new Sam Smith music.
"Thank you for being so patient and for letting me have the past year to really escape into my mind [and] write music so freely," the singer said Thursday in a note to fans. "I feel so rejuvenated and have so many stories I can’t wait to tell you."
He added: "The wait is so nearly over. Something is coming very, very, very, very soon." He also signed off promising he would "see you in the not so distant future." This past May marked three years since the release of his debut album In the Lonely Hour.
As we previously reported, Smith was back in the studio recording new material in June. And a source with knowledge of the singer's plans tells Variance to expect a new single "in September."
A rep for Smith wasn't immediately available for comment.
