Miranda Lambert has been on the ground in her home state of Texas rescuing dogs which are now homeless because of Hurricane Harvey.
Through her MuttNation Foundation, the country star saved 72 pooches from the Houston area on Tuesday, with another 62 picked up on Wednesday. The organization on Thursday confirmed Lambert and other volunteers would be back in Houston today for a third day.
Lambert has been rescuing the pups with the help of the Houston Humane Society. The dogs are being transported to dry shelters in neighboring Oklahoma. Dozens of cats have also been rescued.
The singer and her mother Bev Lambert started MuttNation in 2009 with the goal of helping "as many dogs as possible" find a "safe and happy place to call home."
In addition to physical rescues, MuttNation is also collecting supplies such as dog food, dog toys, cat litter, cat food, towels, blankets and more. Drop-off locations have been set up at the The Pink Pistol in Lindale, Texas; Humane Society in Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Animalia, Pet Vet and Belmont Animal Hospital in Nashville.
