As expected, Brand New has earned their first chart-topper.

The band's new record Science Fiction, which arrived on Aug. 18 without a formal announcement, has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. According to Nielsen Music, it earned 58,000 equivalent album units, of which 55,000 were traditional sales.

The record is currently only available as a digital download or via streaming platforms such as Apple Music or Spotify. A physical release is scheduled for Oct. 18, with CD and vinyl LPs shipping then.

Brand New has previously suggested this long-awaited fifth record may actually be its last. They have yet to confirm if that is still the plan.
