It appears Scandal is coming to an end.

TVLine reported Wednesday the ABC drama's upcoming seventh season will be its last, with the network expected to make a formal announcement next Tuesday as part of its annual upfront presentation for the fall.

The decision is said to have been that of series creator Shonda Rhimes. For its part, ABC accepted that call but it is not commenting on reports of the show's conclusion.

There are still three episodes remaining of Scandal's current sixth season.
