After spending most of the past year in the studio, Bruno Mars is ready to share his new music.

The singer confirmed early Monday morning his new single "24K Magic" (pronounced "twenty-four karat magic") will be out this Friday (Oct. 7). It will serve as the first preview of his forthcoming album, which is finished and expected to arrive later this year, perhaps as soon as next month.

While Mars' last album Unorthodox Jukebox was released back in 2013, he has kept busy since, collaborating with Mark Ronson for "Uptown Funk," which won Record of the Year at this year's Grammy Awards, while also co-writing "All I Ask" with Adele and performing in two Super Bowl halftime shows.

At press time, a release date for the new album had not yet been confirmed.
