Disney is said to be evaluating a potential bid for Twitter, putting the entertainment company in the running against other reported contenders.
According to Bloomberg, The Walt Disney Co. is currently working with a financial adviser to crunch the numbers and determine possible outcomes.
The report follows recent outside interest in Twitter from the likes of Google and Salesforce. And while Disney might seem an unlikely candidate to scoop up the social media giant, it's worth noting co-founder and current CEO Jack Dorsey has been on Disney's board since 2013.
Naturally, Twitter has reacted with humor and suspicion.
