Travis Scott Earns First No. 1 Album with 'Birds in the Trap'

Travis Scott officially has his first No. 1 album, having nabbed the top spot on the U.S. charts with his latest effort, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight.

According to Nielsen Music, the record moved a total of 88,000 equivalent album units in the tracking week ending Sept. 8, with 53,000 in traditional album sales.

As we previously reportedBirds in the Trap Sing McKnight had been on a clear track to the top spot since early last week, with industry insiders predicting sales of around 80,000 units. 

Scott's new album was released on Sept. 2 after several delays. It includes guest features from André 3000, Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, Swizz Beatz, The Weeknd, Young Thug and others.

Birds is currently available as an Apple and iTunes exclusive. And as Billboard notes, it's the fifth album this year to hit No. 1 as an Apple exclusive, following Frank Ocean’s Blonde, DJ Khaled’s Major Key, Drake’s Views and Future’s Evol
