OutKast Has New Music Coming, Says Gucci Mane

It appears OutKast may have new music on the way. That is, if Gucci Mane is to be believed.

The rapper said Monday on Snapchat he "just did a record for OutKast," adding he's also been working with Lil Wayne, Boosie BadAzz, Project Pat and E-40.

Vague as it might be, it came as somewhat of a surprise for fans, considering the Atlanta duo hasn't released an album in 13 years, since 2013's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.

Although they reunited for a festival tour in 2014, it was widely assumed André 3000 and Big Boi's decision to get back together was largely for monetary reasons.

Gucci Mane's claim comes as both members of OutKast have clearly been in the studio recently, with André 3000 appearing on Frank Ocean and Travis Scott's new albums and Big Boi said last month he's been working on his next album as well as a collaborative EP with Killer Mike.

For his part, André said earlier this year while promoting his role on ABC's American Crime he had been "fiending to do music" after focusing on acting, admitting he was "really interested in figuring out some type of music to do. I’m always recording."

Update: As of Tuesday morning (Sept. 6), a rep for André 3000 says there is “no OutKast news to report."
