It appears Daft Punk and The Weeknd have recently been spending time in the studio together.
Republic Records' executive VP and head of urban A&R Wendy Goldstein shared in a recent industry roundtable with Billboard that there was a "session coming up in two days … with The Weeknd and Daft Punk."
Although it's unclear when the interview took place, YourEDM first reported the comments from the interview, which was published on Aug. 17, the same day The Weeknd shared a photo of two miniature Daft Punk figures with only two robot emojis as the caption.
“I’ve always been a massive Daft Punk fan, and this is the first time that I’ve actually been involved with an artist who’s going to go and work with them," Goldstein said.
While there's no official word on what the trio of artists might be working on, it's been over three years since the release of Daft Punk's last album Random Access Memories and The Weeknd earlier this year backed out of Rihanna's tour to focus on his next record.
