Jimmy Fallon will host next year's Golden Globe Awards, NBC announced Tuesday.

The network shared the news today during its wide-spanning panel during the Television Critics Association's summer press tour.

Fallon has never hosted the trophy ceremony, but he'll be following in the footsteps of fellow Saturday Night Live alums Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who hosted together three consecutive years, from 2013 to 2015.

This year's show was hosted by Ricky Gervais, who helmed the Globes for a fourth year.

The 2017 Golden Globes are set to air live from the Beverly Hilton on Jan. 8 at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
