Ariana Grande White House Performance Rejected Over Donut-Licking

A proposed Ariana Grande performance last year at the White House was rejected due to her controversial donut-licking incident.

The snub was revealed Friday when WikiLeaks published thousands of hacked email messages from the Democratic National Committee, including a discussion last September over whether Grande should perform at a gala.

Emails show staffer Kevin Snowden made clear "video caught her licking other peoples' donuts while saying she hates America" and some Republicans had taken issue, claiming the fiasco demonstrated a double standard for liberal celebrities, as compared to Donald Trump.

Despite a vetting process revealing Grande's overall clean record and financial history, White House employee Bobby Schmuck's quickly shut down the notion: "Nope, sorry," he said.

After public backlash last summer, Grande issued an apology saying she is "extremely proud to be an American" and her "poor choice of words" were merely inspired by her being an "advocate for healthy eating."

The leaked emails have resulted in a number of Democratic donors' payment information being made public, as well as conversations from top DNC leaders offering plots to block Bernie Sanders.

With the leak coming just days before the Democratic National Convention next week in Philadelphia, some information suggests the Russian government might be responsible.

Former Pentagon official Adam Blickstein has even gone as far as to hypothesize Russian president Vladimir Putin wouldn't be above coordinating the hack in order to help Trump, who has previously praised the autocrat and this week said he might not support America's NATO allies if elected.
