The Lonely Island, the comedic rap trio comprised of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone, will release the highly anticipated The Wack Album on June 11, they confirmed in a press release on Tuesday. Their third studio effort will include new songs featuring Pharrell Williams, T-Pain, Billie Joe Armstrong, Solange, and other special guests which have yet to be revealed. These collaborators join previously announced appearances by Adam Levine, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga.
The group will launch this Wednesday (May 8) what they're calling “Wack Wednesdays," in which they will debut new content—music videos, exclusive announcements and track premieres—via YouTube.
Their 2009 debut album, Incredibad, included Emmy-winning sensation "Dick In A Box," which featured Justin Timberlake, as well as "J**z In My Pants," "I'm On A Boat" and "Like a Boss." They saw their profile rise following 2005's "Lazy Sunday" Digital Short on Saturday Night Live, which led to a series of subsequent Shorts.
The Wack Album will be available June 11 via Republic Records.
