The Mindy Project has been renewed by Hulu for a fifth season, according to a report on Wednesday from TVLine.
News of the renewal comes nearly a year after the show was canceled by Fox and eventually picked up by Hulu, where its fourth season premiered last fall.
Star and creator Mindy Kaling subsequently confirmed the news at Hulu's upfront presentation this afternoon in New York, where the actress expressed gratitude for the show's new creative freedom thanks to being outside of the broadcast TV world.
Hulu also confirmed its freshman series The Path, which stars Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul, has also been renewed for a new season.
Season five of Mindy Project will consist of 16 episodes.
