Prince was taken to the hospital early Friday morning after his private jet made an emergency landing in Illinois.

TMZ first reported the singer's aircraft was forced to make an unexpected stop around 1 a.m. at Quad City International Airport. He was en route from Atlanta, where he performed Thursday night.

Citing two unnamed sources, TMZ claims one as saying Prince is still in a nearby hospital and "not doing well," although another source said he is doing fine.

At press time, the details of Prince's medical situation were not clear. A rep for the singer was not immediately available for comment.

Prince's publicist has subsequently confirmed he was indeed taken to the hospital to treat ongoing flu symptoms he has been dealing with for several weeks. He was released three hours later and is now back at home.
