Robin Thicke Breaks Mary J. Blige's R&B/Hip-Hop Record with 16 Weeks at No. 1

As of this week, Robin Thicke has now broken a longtime record.

With a 16th week at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, his "Blurred Lines," featuring T.I. and Pharrell, has now passed Mary J. Blige's former record of 15 weeks atop the chart with "Be Without You." Blige has held that record since 2006.

To date, the track has sold 5.8 million downloads in just 26 weeks since it first released, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
