Suge Knight Shot During Chris Brown's Pre-VMAs Party

Death Row Records co-founder Marion "Suge" Knight was shot early Sunday morning at a pre-VMAs party hosted by Chris Brown.

TMZ first reported the incident, which left at least two others injured, in addition to Knight.

According to The Los Angeles Times, the shooting took place around 1:30 a.m. at a 1OAK nightclub in West Hollywood.

The victims, including Knight, were taken to local hospitals and are all expected to recover. At press time, the shooter remains unknown.

It's unclear the motive for the shooting, but TMZ claims there was an altercation earlier in the night between The Game's entourage and security. Any possible link is not certain.

As the Times points out, Knight was previously shot at a 2008 pre-VMAs party hosted by Kanye West in Miami.

For its part, MTV was quick to note the event was an "unofficial" pre-VMAs party, unaffiliated with the network. The VMAs air Sunday night at 9 p.m. EST on MTV.
