Yellow Ostrich Disbands, Frontman Creates New Project

After releasing their latest album, Cosmos, earlier this year, New York indie outfit Yellow Ostrich will play its final show together next month.

Frontman Alex Schaaf revealed in an open letter to fans that they've "had an amazing few years together, and we couldn't be more grateful and satisfied, but the time has come to move on to the next thing."

As for Schaaf's next thing, he's created a new project called Human Heat with a new EP out. He intends to put a band together and eventually start playing shows.

Yellow Ostrich will perform its last show on Dec. 8 at Brooklyn's Glasslands, the same place they played their first full show in September 2010.
