Jamie Foxx played the role of hero on Monday night when he helped rescue a man from a burning car outside the actor's home.

According to a report from the California Highway Patrol, 32-year-old Brett Kyle was driving his Toyota Tacoma "at a high rate of speed" through Foxx's neighborhood in Moorpark, California, when the truck veered off the road and through a drainage ditch before rolling over several times and catching fire.

Foxx says he heard the crash and immediately ran out of his house, rushing to help Kyle. Fortunately, an off-duty EMT arrived shortly after and helped cut the driver's seatbelt so they could drag him out of the truck.

By the time fire crews arrived at the scene, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames, but Kyle, who is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, had already been safely removed. He was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for burn injuries.

"I don't look at it as heroic," Foxx said about the rescue. "I just look at it as ... you just had to do something. It all worked out."
