Goldenvoice is making its once-in-a-lifetime rock fest Desert Trip more of a twice-in-a-lifetime event, adding an encore weekend of the superstar performances from The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Roger Waters and The Who.

Citing "overwhelming demand" in a press release on Monday, the festival promoter, which also produces Coachella, announced a second weekend of the festival on Oct. 14-16, in addition to the original Oct. 7-9 dates.

Considering tickets only went on sale today (May 9), it's likely a second weekend was always part of the plan. As we mentioned in February, Goldenvoice's new contract with the city of Indio, California, included two fall weekend events.

Tickets for both weekends of Desert Trip range from $199 for single-day general admission passes to $1,599 for grandstand VIP with reserved seating.
