It's so very "commercial" of Kanye West, but MTV has confirmed the Yeezus rapper will be performing at the upcoming VMAs on Aug. 25, which will be held at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.
Ye, who will be performing his first new single "Black Skinhead, joins previously announced performer Lady Gaga, who will premiere her own new cut, "Applause." A performance from Katy Perry is also likely now that the singer has confirmed the Aug. 12 release of "Roar," the first track off her forthcoming album, Prism.
Not to rain on Gaga and Perry's parade, but this will mark Yeezy's seventh VMA performance, tying Madonna for most performances—of all time!—on MTV's flagship awards show.
