Following news that he will be exiting his longtime role on NBC's Community, Donald Glover has inked a deal to write, produce and star in a half-hour comedy pilot for FX.

According to Deadline, the project, titled Atlanta, will be set against the backdrop of the Atlanta music scene. Glover is an Atlanta native.

As we previously reported, Glover (aka Childish Gambino) is also working on a new album, tentatively titled Centipede. This new pilot would enable him to further combine his passions of music and acting. It's worth noting that Glover previously started out writing on 30 Rock, so this new gig would suit him perfectly.
